ded

Since it's coming up fast, I figured I would announce that I will be MIA quite a bit over the next month (ish).

Now until March 17 - Very patchy video posting. Essentially I'll throw something up whenever I've had time to make it.

March 17-21 - Very limited contact. Will not be posting any video content.

March 27-April 11 - Will be out of the city. Very limited contact. Will be available by hangouts or email only. Will not be posting any video content (unless I managed to queue/schedule a lot of stuff, but don't expect anything).

Soundtrack Thursday will feature Fire Emblem soundtracks this week because I have a problem.

Fire Emblem Fates - Some of these tracks...all I'm imagining is the busywork between levels. Running around talking to everyone...people getting upset when I give them the wrong accessory (so I just keep passing around the same old dirty bath towel to see who reacts to it positively...I think Sakura cried), spending some REALLY awkward time in your private quarters (I think I found out where the petting part was removed...THEY STARE INTO YOUR SOUL) and trying to stockpile resources for unnecessary crafting. I think if Mesk plays any Fire Emblem games he should actually play this one...not because it's the best, but because it's the weirdest I've played so far. Anyhow, music is great for the most part...love the integration of the theme in some of the tracks.

Fire Emblem Awakening - Some of my favourite Fire Emblem tracks ever are in this game. I think out of the Fire Emblems released in the past 10 years, this is my favourite. Path of Radiance and the original Fire Emblem for Gameboy Advance I think are my two favourites though. I have a draft with my initial thoughts on Awakening lying around here somewhere that I never actually posted. Should see if I can find it...

Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn - Out of all the Fire Emblem games (aside from Fates as I'm currently playing it), it's the only one I haven't finished. I got mad at the end because I accidentally enchanted some of the wrong weapons and I couldn't go back. I'll be returning to this game soon, hopefully to LP it once I'm done Path of Radiance.

Juggling

I swear to god managing two Google accounts in one browser is now beyond frustrating. I haven't had an issue in the past YEAR and suddenly over the past two weeks it's become a major headache. So I have my personal account as my primary, but I have a work one as well. So every time a coworker sends me a link to a google drive document, even though I'm using my work account at the time, it automatically assumes I want to view it on my personal account. So I switch to that account, paste the link in the address bar. SAME THING. So I log out of the one account, which logs out of ALL accounts, and log in with the work account first and then the personal account. Then I have the opposite problem, but at least I can actually view file I need to view. Then if you have multiple tabs open, it gets upset and tears you away from whatever you're doing just to let you know that you've been logged out on another browser. NO I HAVEN'T. So it makes you login again, which logs you out of ALL accounts, again. Then if you happen to have gmail for the OTHER account up, it gets upset, logs you out and forces you to login AGAIN. So in order to avoid it completely, I have to close all the tabs and restart. I know other people were having the same issue in the past, but I thought we were past that, Google. What changed?

Ugh, well that frustration aside...and assuming I don't get logged out again...here's some soundtracks for you:

Deadpool - This movie was great. Expectations exceeded. I still love the guy with his like...9 year old daughter in the line for Deadpool. The movie attendant came by and was like, uh, just so you know, this movie REALLY isn't for kids...like REALLY. He did end up leaving because of it.

I had no idea that Shaggy remixed the Juice Newton song. I heard Shaggy first so when I heard this song I was like...wait...did Shaggy rip off Juice? I have been informed that it is indeed a remix. I never knew. Also, the Careless Whisper song ("I'm never going to dance again")...Nick told me that was used in a cheesy driving PSA video every time someone who got disabled by a car crash was telling their story. Yikes.

Hateful Eight - Haven't seen this yet, mostly because we were late to the game and the night we WERE thinking of seeing it, we saw that it was 3 hours and decided that was a bit too late on a work night. Still planning on seeing it, but in the meantime...soundtrack. Also, I couldn't find a full compilation at high quality so...sadface.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens - Enjoyed it more than I thought I would to be honest. Was predictable, but good fun. I enjoyed the new cast of characters and the inclusion of all the old actors. Thought it was a fun touch.

I haven't touched much of my video editing queue as I've been busy playing Fire Emblem, writing and trying to catch up on editing some writing for others. Either way, it's going to be pretty quiet for the next two months as I have some big things and travel coming up in addition to maybe possibly finally figuring out what's going on health-wise.

Obviously Sadistic

People keep asking why I use _____ in the game _____, and the answer is because I'm evil. I have been sent, specifically, to torture you. I am obviously sadistic. My cruelty has spawned a need for a new category to add to the list along with the "what do you use to record" column and the "r u gurl or kid" column. I keep saying that I should really run statistics on this. I think there's a special list for Diablo and Dungeon Siege comments that we need to explore as well, specifically "number 3 in the series sucks" comments.

Thank Amy for bringing this up again. Now it's going to be stuck in my head all day.

It's ten years old now. How does that make you feel?

Soundtrackssssss

Today's theme is "classic games people played in their childhood that I never played in my childhood...which mostly includes console games"

I'll be peppering it with random thoughts I have at the time...or while I'm listening. Enjoy.

Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary - It's still really cold in my office, which makes no sense because it's super warm outside. I'd say the boiler isn't working, but like the A/C, it's ALWAYS on. Also, people don't seem to realize how easy identifying plagarized projects and writing is. I love the people who copy and paste from Wikipedia personally. They're normally so lazy they don't take out the links or reference numbers.

Super Mario 64 - Mario was something I'd always try to get my friends with NES to play because I didn't get to play it at home. I remember at my one friend's house we were taking turns playing Super Mario World while the rest of us tried to do backflips onto a mattress with a bunch of pillows. Not the wisest idea in hindsight, but some girls at a gymnastics meet my dad had to go to were being catty little twits and said I wasn't able/allowed to do them. I don't think we actually accomplished a real back flip, but screw those girls anyway.

Zelda Ocarina of Time - I remember I was sitting on the train playing something on my DS and this dude comes over, sits next to me and asks me what I'm playing. I told him and then went to put my headphones back in, but then I got bombarded with a 30 minute rant about how he was an expert at Zelda games and that he knew everything about them. I guess he was just really passionate about that game and thought it would impress me. Knowing me, I was probably playing Fire Emblem and likely wanted to focus on that. In the grand scheme of weird people I've encountered on the train though, he was pretty normal. He's got nothing on Harvey and the Decorum Woman.

I have skittles.

One of my coworkers found my YouTube and watched all my Fire Emblem videos. I knew my silly/terrible readings of all the lines would come back to haunt me. Hi Rob.

Final Fantasy VII - This is a very long soundtrack.

Deadpool just educated me about testicular cancer.

Trine 2 DLC is being released now. Not sure what the release schedule is going to look like after this. I am likely going to start releasing Evil Within fairly soon since I'm...actually working on it. It's as bad as I remember. Going to be releasing random videos in the meantime. It'll likely be Gauntlet, Fire Emblem, and Murdered Soul Suspect.

Flavourless Mush

Now I know why the kiwis I bought were on sale. When sliced open, they are flavourless mush.

Four more days until I know more about what's causing me pain in my right side.

I'd make today a soundtrack Thursday, but I forgot my headphones at home. The other ones I have are mostly broken and hurt my ears.

I got past the first section of Fire Emblem Awakening on Lunatic mode (i.e. Chapter 11), sat through the forced romance cause I was neglecting my support and training for Chrom, and pushed forward into Chapter 12. Started the level and I wish I could be recording DS games because my reaction was priceless. You get taken right to the preparation menu with no cutscene so I'l like "okay, let's see what we're up against." Immediately around me I see 4 knights, 2 cavaliers and 1 paladin (which I didn't realize was a paladin until I started). I scrolled to the left and said "oh god" because there were 5 more horse dudes and more knights. Scroll up and started swearing said "oh god no" and saw that the whole map is just covered in knights and horse dudes. A good number of them are tier two. I look at the map clear requirements and see "Rout Enemy" and there's just this outraged cry of despair you hear from me and I see that it's 43 units vs my 13 units. I have 3 tier two units. THREE. Only TWO of my units can withstand an attack from that paladin. The rest can be one-shotted. I should see if I can grab a screen of this...anyway I quit to go level my dudes on risen (which are easy aside from the bosses which have 60 HP and do 51 damage -_-). I can literally rant about Fire Emblem for hours so I'll stop.

I'm still sad I missed out on the Fire Emblem Fates Special Edition. Currently my only option are the scalped ones on Amazon etc. selling for like...$300 which I'm not inclined to pay. That would be ridiculous considering other expenses.

I'm stuck on the plant level in Myst 3. Don't tell me what to do. I'm missing something stupid obvious. I know it.

I may work on Evil Within backwards as I want those files off the laptop and I have no where to put them.

Working on a special Life is Strange video that will be released next week. It's mostly done. Just need to fix a few areas.

Actively working on editing the rest of the SR4 footage, Gauntlet footage and one more ESO video. Actively recording Fire Emblem Path of Radiance. I need enough space to finish Gauntlet, SR4 and Dead Space 2. Evil Within, Bioshock Infinite and Murdered are the problem since they are full LPs still.

This week in the world of work: Tiger Telepathy, making fun of Facebook's code (though we learned it actually links back to a picture's URL when it scrapes the page not make a copy), excessive Christmas decorations in the other office that shares our building (including a movie theatre, stormtroopers, LEGO displays, Christmas trees, projectors etc.) and the one site I work with FINALLY renewed their security certificate.

I have a script for the first area of an RPG almost done.

I did not lose any laundry this week.

Nice Pancreas

These last few weeks have been quite the adventure in gigantic swings of good and bad luck. Thankfully whenever something bad happens there seems to be good luck in those bad things. Device for music breaks catastrophically > decides to randomly function again. Forget the laundry on top of my car and drive away > return to see nothing got run over. Need to leave my car in a parking lot for two days due to a medical emergency > doesn't get towed or broken into. Need to wait a total of 10 hours in a hospital waiting room to find out why I have stabbing pains in my chest only to find out they can't find anything wrong > there's nothing wrong with me and, I quote, "have a very nice pancreas."

I was even well enough to go to an adults only night at the science centre last night (despite lingering nausea), which was nice cause we got tickets to it over a month ago. Saw a show about Pluto that was apparently "too much science" for the guy next to us. Because I mean, who the hell wants to experience science in a science centre. It was entertaining to watch 18+ people playing with science displays intended for children (including full-grown adults climbing through the indoor playground...with a height limit of four feet), and flocking around a number of puppies and cats that one organization brought in. There were also snakes and spiders to pet (I passed...mostly cause the line for it was long) and a human-sized hungry hungry hippos.

So I should be able to upload more videos again starting tonight. I was a little over-dramatic the other evening as I was sitting on the bathroom floor at the time waiting for nausea to pass. I got some Fire Emblem levels on my DS done though so I suppose there's that. That desert level was really killing me for awhile. I was probably complaining about this in my last post.

Also, was really entertained by a dude who felt the need to tell me how I wasn't a very nice person on YouTube after I commented on a guy who was upset that I had the audacity to joke about Dungeon Siege instead of just playing it. I mean, I'm so lucky to have someone policing my niceness levels these days. I don't want to literally turn into Hitler. Maybe this fine moral guide will scroll down the page and scold the young gentlemen who called me a bitch and told me to "lick his butthole." I mean if he's so concerned about how nice I'm being, he should certainly be interested in telling this lovely individual to mind his language. That said, I suppose I got the brunt of it because I'm just a horrid little hellspawn. It's okay; we'll hug it out. Maybe it'll purge the meanness from me.
