Moose Moose Beaver Hockey, Igloo Igloo, Hoser

Pretty angry so I forgot it was Thursday until now. Granted it's only 10am, but still. Currently listening to the Age of Empires 2 soundtrack because I like it and it makes me less angry for some reason.

So I'm supposed to get officially cleared by one of our clients because I MIGHT work on the account. I likely won't be, but I need to do it anyways because apparently we're all criminals waiting to happen. I fill out their forms and give them an arm and a leg. They ask me for my soul next and I'm like, dude, I can't give you my soul right now, I don't have the right information at the moment. So they keep emailing me over and over ignoring my email stating why my soul is currently off the market. Finally they find my email or w/e and are like okay well you could TRY sending this part of your soul and I'm like k, I'll do that when I'm able to. Then they just email me out of the blue today and are like yeah...so we're going to need your first born child as well.

The analogy has gotten a little weird, but I don't appreciate having arbitrary requirements thrust upon me. Apparently this has only happened to one or two of my other coworkers and some got away with sending like...a driver's license as ID AND proof of address like...there is no reason you, as a company, should know everything about me.

Talked to some other coworkers and apparently only two of them have gotten off with no additional requests. One person got it bad enough that they were asking for financial records from their personal business.

Anyway....

I remember last week I decided to have a Final Fantasy week (suggested by Delta). So here you go.

Final Fantasy 3 - A lot of people seem to really like this one.

Final Fantasy 4 - I THINK this was the one Shauna said she really liked.

Final Fantasy 6 - Because tormenting Mesk is fun...I mean, in honour of his LP.

I'm off for the day. Expect Riven to appear soon on my page. It's time. Also working on another video project that I'll share soon.

Turn the Crank

One of the levels in Evil Within was literally just turning cranks and fighting pyramid head ripoffs. We played 6 ish hours yesterday and we're still only 2/3 done. We have five more chapters and we STILL have no idea what's going on. It's hilarious and so very disheartening at the same time. If it's not cameras being shoved up our rear ends, or statues glued to crows, it's confusing plots and awful texturing. We'll get there some day.

Good news! I am now officially a fulltime employee at the place I was doing contract work for! This means I might be able to drop some of the other things I'm doing and have more time for faffing about in games and video production. Likely I will work at the library job I have as well for a time and see if it will work for me. If not and I end up a nervous wreck again, I will have a clear answer.

Almost complete Awesome Possum. I'm on the final gauntlet run of bosses. I'm stuck on the loser with the skates, monkey wrench and kabuki mask. I think he's supposed to be a hockey player? Regardless, he's annoying because he reads input and there's no corner I can wedge him in to kill him in seconds. I started working on a Tera video. It's actually almost done, I just need to do final edits and an encode. I just want to get the footage off my drives as it has been sitting there for months. Oh and people finally convinced me to start Mass Effect. I made an extremely pissed off Shepard with the most tragic backstory I could muster. I was giggling cause all I could think of was Calhoun from Wreck It Ralph.

Going to try and get more Gauntlet time in this weekend. Mesk and HKS have been complaining that I'm constantly dead, so it may be time to pick this back up. That or play more Guild Wars. I'll leave that up to them.

Lastly, Delta was wanting to play some games this weekend. I'll likely be joining in a stream of theirs at some point (late Friday night for me is the most likely). I will regret it in the morning, but sacrifices must be made (I work an 8 hour shift starting at 9am ughhhhhh).

Gone Dark

Hey everyone. Sorry I went dark for a couple days there. I had a project I needed to finish...and if I wasn't working, I was writing this thing. Yep, three days later and a lot of lost sleep, I'm in recovery mode. The good news is, I am done and a major item is checked off my to do list. Bad news is I've neglected uploads. I am currently remedying that.

Sanitarium and Hunted videos should be published tonight. Turns out I had one other Alien video I forgot I edited, so that will go out tomorrow along with another episode I'm going to edit right now. I am really exhausted though, so I'm going to do additional catch-up tomorrow.

"Security"

Happy Monday I think. Super tired from staying up late to play skirmishes in Neverwinter, only to get no useful items from the rewards box. Ah well. At least we had a lot of interesting conversations, most of which I can't remember. A lot of game related, a bit of anime and Nick and Shauna spent an entire round testing the chat censor (the people we played with that round left in a hurry after it was finished). We even managed to break the skirmish one time, but it actually wasn't my fault for once.

So yeah, getting a bullshit security camera installed at my work right now. I'm watching them run the cable, giving them a dirty looks. Apparently they want to ensure that we monitor our "high risk" valuables and assets. This would include: a fridge with a small amount of alcohol in it, three computers (two that are over ten years old (one of which solely runs a program, copyright 1988) and one that's powerful enough to run an internet browser and some spreadsheets), a printer as old as I am, a laser printer no one would want nor could easily carry out of a BASEMENT, about 100 ratty old shoes and a coffee machine. Okay, there is a decent sound system down here, but it would take a long time to remove, meaning that they would have to come in the middle of the night not to be noticed by anyone else in the building.

I work it a bowling alley in a private club meaning there are cameras people would need to pass to get the goods out. There is one door they could escape out, but they cannot get IN that door meaning they would walk past those cameras and never come back. Not only that, they would need to be staff or a member to get through the security doors (they need a card). Now theoretically they could dodge a camera one way by using the back entrance, or hold the side door open for a person to come and meet them, but they would still have to walk by the cameras at a time that no one else is working or would notice them and the bowling alley is open later than most parts. There are a lot of hiding places here, so someone could hide until close and sneak around, but in that case why wouldn't they go after better stuff in other departments? If anything is stolen, it would likely be a staff member with unrestricted access who can hang around after hours without being suspicious. There are easier places to steal alcohol from which means that kids would be the only ones that would ever try and steal alcohol from here. The fridge is locked unless we are serving, and when we are serving we sit RIGHT in front of it. I do not believe kids are intelligent enough to steal alcohol from here without being noticed. The only thing a person I know has had stolen up here was a wallet and they left that in the middle of the curling area. The kids that took it took the credit cards, five dollars, the debit card and the air miles card (wtf). They made it to Jugo Juice, tried the card and when it failed, they ditched everything in a shoe store.

Point is, yeah, you could steal something from here. I could think of exactly how you'd do it, but it's too much effort for too little payoff. This is a way to keep an eye on us and try to cut jobs and hours by proving we don't need as many people down here. We're already short-staffed meaning we'd be screwed for large parties where half the people usually get drunk and do stupid things that we need to manage. So good job guys. Way to waste time, effort and money on something that will ultimately be useless and make us all uncomfortable. I only ever worked in one place with security cameras and I worked retail for 7 years. In this place, half the security cameras were fake so you could always find somewhere you're not being PEERED AT.

So bullshit aside. Knife of Dunwall has finished uploading. Neverwinter dungeons, Skyrim and soon, Dark Souls will be going up. I will be taking a few vacations at the end of July here and in August. My plan is to upload everything I want to post before I leave and then publish at regular intervals from my phone. Whether this system works or not will be an adventure in itself.

PS - Give my coworkers a week with that security camera running. They will find a way to exploit it. These are the people that used the monitor for an old security camera in an adjacent room (as we were responsible for it and didn't have someone there for operating hours) to set up a Nintendo system over the summer, used the stick designed to raise the bumpers to give people their shoes without getting out of the chair, spent a significant amount of time on pranks (such as jamming ever bowling ball in the alley behind lane 4 in a way that they would have to be moved, by hand, back to their lanes) and come up with elaborate zombie apocalypse strategies should it happen while we are in the bowling alley. Do not underestimate these people.
