Forgot to post about it yesterday, but I figured I'd make a new one rather than add an edit. I will be leaving on Friday for a couple days, so I won't be around to for video uploads etc. I may queue some up and just post from my phone, but that all depends on how good reception is out in the boonies.
Life is Strange is fully uploaded. Don't watch part 6 unless you want to see me suffer at the hands of the phone password. The rest is pretty intense though, so be prepared.
I will queue up some Contrast, Dead Space 2 and maybe (if I get it done between editing papers and making ski videos) more of those Sherlock videos. I may have some other videos hidden in the depths that I can throw up in the meantime. I'll have to take a peek.
When I get back, I'll be working through the never-ending back log of video. Awesome Possum may start going up early even though I'm not done it. I'm stuck. In the arctic. With robot dogs. And tears. I supplied the latter.

Life is Strange Episode 4
Yeah so I marathoned Episode 4 last night and you are in for way more than five episodes this time. That said, a good portion of it was spent at the deduction board trying to figure out this dude's cellphone password, but that's besides the point. They really packed the content into this episode this time. They also packed in a lot of heavy decisions...especially from the get-go. Anyone who has been playing or watching thus far knows how Episode 3 ended and they waste no time hopping right into those consequences.
I won't ruin it for anyone, but the ending of this Episode is pretty messed up. I mean, everything that has happened so far has been hinting that something like this was going to happen but...holy crap. It's not even on the level of the end of Episode 2. It goes beyond that to the point where I was mildly in shock. Jeez I can't even think of anything else to say without ruining everything so uh, episodes are going up as of today. First two are up at the time of this post. The rest will be later when I get home from work.
Anyway, half regretting staying up and playing that as I got like...2 hours of sleep, but at the same time, so worth it.
Okay guys. The time has come. A 4 day working, paper editing, ski video making, house cleaning marathon is a go. I may not survive this. Should the worst happen, please play Highway to Hell at my funeral. That or the most obnoxious bag pipes you can find. I want to go out trolling.
PS - Okay I will say this. Still on my mind. Been bothering me since I saw it in game. Why, were they having the party in the pool? I mean, yeah, great idea in principle, but have any of you actually been to an indoor pool? The sound quality in there is NOT optimal. Everything would echo so much and you have a massive amount of electronics and wires RIGHT NEXT TO WATER. Kristy will be disappointed. The people in this game are not making good choices.
PSS - Seriously I don't care where or how, but guys, go experience Episode 4
PSSS - Seriously.
EDIT - Not that anyone is too interested, but went to see someone about my back again and the guy was unable to adjust it, so going to get an x-ray and see if my scoliosis is worse (always had it, but it's never been serious). I have hot pink tape all over my back again. Fabelhaft.

Twisted
My spine that is. One of the sections of my spine was slightly twisted, so I had a guy untwist it. Didn't really hurt at the time, but it's pretty sore today.
Mostly just posting to say that Bioshock 2 is fully uploaded. I am rapidly running out of finished material to post. I realistically have Contrast, a few more episodes of Dead Space 2, half (I sincerely hope it's half) of Awesome Possum and like up to level 7 of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance prepared. don't even think I know where that Fire Emblem stuff is actually...I'm going to have to go digging when I get home.
Now back to my crummy, but totally self-inflicted morning full of moths in the bathtub, missing trains by a minute, losing the squishy bit of my headphones and getting to work early for a meeting just to find out that there's no meeting today. But on the bright side I get to email this dude again because he obviously didn't read the other two emails I sent. Because reading is hard.

I'm a Genius
Also I'm sarcastic.
I wrecked my back. It has been sore for the past few weeks and last night I was super intelligent and played badminton knowing it was really bad. The games were good at least. Anyway, I now have tingling nerve pain in my leg and foot in addition to walking around like I'm 80 years old. I'm going to get it checked out today and maybe get an x-ray? I have no idea what the process here is now. All I know is physio is expensive and that's probably going to be recommended. Sigh.
Lifting books and pushing carts probably doesn't help matters. Working on a new floor at the library to test it out. It's a lot noisier and has some interesting rules, but it seems like it'll go all right. I have some good people working with me, so there's that. Still, working tomorrow will be interesting with my back...
So Far Cry 3 is completely done now and Bioshock 2 is like 4 episodes from being done. Dead Space 2 isn't fully recorded yet, but I plan to do that soon. Awesome Possum is also being recorded. Accidentally messed up my save state though. I just cheated to get me back to that level (thank god that option exists), cause there's no way in hell I'm ever playing through this game more than once. Mesk is, naturally, enjoying my torment.
Future solo projects are something I can finally discuss now! Skyrim Dawnguard DLC is definitely high on the list. Then I may do some modded Skyrim videos. Who knows? It's still pretty vanilla for the purpose of the LP. I have Contrast sitting on my drives, waiting to be posted. It is very short so that would be good to tide you all over. Life Is Strange Episode 4 is coming soon so there will be five to six episodes of that. And ugh, I should just finally finish Half Life Episode 2. I've put it off for far too long.
Co-op projects are still sitting on my hard drives gathering dust. I will not speak of these until I actually do something productive.

Evil Within is Awful
That is all.
Okay that's not all. It's really that bad. Poor Shauna had such high hopes for the game. I think she was expecting scary and instead we got blurry graphics, poor performance, terrible controls and all around bad gameplay. All it has going for it at this point is a few intuitive game mechanics. I think this is the first game we have changed the difficulty on to make it easier. And that's saying something when we played all of Alien Isolation on HARD.
I actually had to take a break from fighting the butcher boss. He's the one with the chainsaw in the barn on chapter 3. I was so angry and stressed out it mixed with my upset stomach and the heat, and I literally ended up needing a 10 minute break from the game as I sat on Shauna's couch with a bag of frozen hashbrowns on my face. So we have now coined the term "Hashbrowns-on-face bad" to describe a game. Might just shorten that to "hashbrown bad," but that would suggest that hashbrowns are anything but delicious.
Before this boss you have to wander around this town area using the "stealth" mode because your weapons and fighting skills are shit. You can't see half the traps. You can't see half of everything. We had to reduce the resolution and graphics quality just to get the game to run at 25-30fps. Anything higher than the reduced settings gives us 10-11fps. This is all BEFORE Fraps is a factor. Actually we had so many issues even getting the game to run at all. I had to upgrade drivers, turn off settings, edit some files and FINALLY it ran. Even before we reduced the graphics quality, the character moves in this lurching, drunken gait. We had to turn off motion blur because we were getting nauseous. It was even bad during the cinematics, which feature all these plastic looking people.
Then the controls. After playing a good 2-3 hours last night, I finally got the controls to work in my favour, but seriously, I keep hammering the R3 button to crouch or run because muscle memory dictates it. I keep accidentally turning on my ass light and alerting all the zombie dudes because it's bound to L3. I pull out my gun to shoot, but then I want to switch to my fists to pummel a guy and end up shooting with my melee button because the melee button (R2) switches when you have a gun out (becomes Y...as in WHY DOES IT DO THIS?) and then L2 lets you aim and shoot, but the hip fire ends up being more accurate half the time. The inventory system lets you bind items to the D pad (figured that out last night), which helped greatly (though not with the melee issue) and sometimes when you try to use a pistol you whip out your crossbow and UGH. Then you're sprinting away from dudes, have a limited sprint, and when you run out you stand in place and catch your breath for three seconds which is long enough for a zombie to catch up and ram a pickaxe up your ass.
Realism. It's great. Except when it's not. IF the game had ways to compensate for the stamina feature, the slow-down on the stairs, the jittery and ineffective crouch system (seriously, you'll exit stealth randomly after performing certain actions), the lurching walk/run and the terrible camera (IF!), then yes, maybe we could work with this. But it doesn't. Combat is just as cumbersome (as mentioned above), the enemies arbitrarily see you when you sneak up on them, the enemies suddenly have weapons like shotguns (actually one cool aspect of the game I liked is that the AI will actually find and pick up weapons, so you often need to sneak or get to those weapons first) and they all do shit tons of damage. The traps are BS. I like the variety and they do catch me off guard and they are useful for killing unsuspecting enemies as you can lead them through trap areas, but disarming is awful. The bombs for instance. I assumed you'd get multiple turns of the needle to try and land the blue area. Nope. You get one shot to land it and if not, you explode when the needle hits the 12 0' clock position. Which, is incidentally hilarious as when you die to explosions your body just falls apart like a bloody, gooey mannequin. Your head just comically rolls off. Another great one (and quite satisfying), is when you land a headshot with a melee weapon and the zombie's head explodes you are showered with radioactive pink jam.
So yeah. Melee with weapons, when it works, is great. AI going for weapons is great. Needing to burn bodies and make sure things stay dead is great (though you can only carry FIVE MATCHES at the beginning of the game...and don't ask about where Shauna thinks he stores them). Having effects like fire and melee damage carry to other enemies and do splash damage is great. The variety of traps is cool. Everything else is disgusting. I'm to angry while playing to even pay attention to the atmosphere (or lack of) or the story while playing. All I know is that some detective dude was investigating an asylum and there's this undead ripoff Assassin's Creed assassin running around trying to be creepy, murdering random dudes and sticking knives in things and suddenly we're getting in car crashes and falling off cliffs and there's this mental patient that's important for some reason and an upgrade area with a doctor lady and...just what?
Man I'm sorry for all the typos you're going to find in there. That rant wasn't supposed to happen. Honestly, I'm more angry with this game than Awesome Possum. Yeah. You heard right. At least I expect that game to be awful. I expect the anger. When I need to run around for 30 mins trying to kill a guy cause I ran out of ammo and my only option is a spike trap (which was hard to time because Butcher McIdiot Face can't make up his mind whether he wants to get lost and confused or run at us at light speed) and need to stop to put frozen hashbrowns on my face, you know there's a problem.

Less Angry and Exhausted
Yeah I'm actually not angry about anything this week. All is well now that I have finished those edits and I can't remember what else I was angry about. In other news, my memory is still terrible. I keep saying that will get better when I'm less busy, but either I'm never less busy or my memory is just permanently awful. Okay it's all right in some respects. Sure I can't remember my appointments or meetings, but I can remember every line of Arrogant Worm's History is Made by Stupid People and silly flash videos I watched ten years ago. TOTALLY USEFUL.
I can't even remember why I started this post. God.
Updates I suppose. Bioshock 2 and Far Cry 3 co-op are almost complete. I have a handful of video left for both of them. The Far Cry 3 stuff is particularly aggravating as Michael and I spent a long time suffering at the hands of that final mission. Bioshock 2 is equally aggravating and amusing. I would highly recommend watching the last couple of videos I posted (Suddenly We're in Doom) as there is some really messed up stuff in it. Dead Space 2 will continue for awhile (especially since I haven't even finished recording it yet). Life is Strange Episode 4 is supposed to be out soon-ish. I thought it was actually out this past week. I might do something with Banished as I have been playing that quite a bit the last few days.
I think Delta has slowly been posting the Saint's Row 3 stuff I gave him, but it's going to run out fairly soon. I think more Tera is in order in the near future as well. Guild Wars 1 is going to sit around awhile longer. I ran Gauntlet on Normal with Nick. Not sure if/when I'll post those recordings, though there was a lot of silliness (mostly involving me getting him killed). We'll be running Trine 2 in the near future. Murdered Soul Suspect and Bioshock Infinite are on the queue for LPs with Shauna, but I'm likely to produce more Sherlock video first.
Also got to love the music some company arbitrarily decided to block a video with music from Assassin's Creed 4 in my country after having it sitting there for at least two years with no ramifications. Took me about five seconds to find another version (extended which is even better). Nah nah.
Nothing like telling someone they can't have something. Only makes them want it more.
I still can't get over how much this bothers me. Companies fighting over sound or visual content in my LPs, which is fair use at this point in time, for SCRAPS. Apparently a few cents a month at most is worth fighting for. And I'm the kind of person who will openly admit to using other people's music or content in my videos and accept those claims on my videos...if it's something that was under my control. If it's built into a game and I have no control over what plays when, then I don't think you should be filing claims on my content. Don't give me the line "oh well you can turn the music off in game then." No. Just no. Keep fighting over that petty cash gentlemen.

Angry and Exhausted
And hot and bothered.
These past two weeks haven't been bad really, but I've been struggling a lot with my mood, the heat, trying to manage three jobs (four if you count the editing I've been trying to do periodically) and moving. I have had little time for personal projects, which is unfortunate because I really need them to stay relaxed/sane. So I will tell you what I've been telling everyone the last month: I'm really sorry, but I've been insanely busy.
I've been postponing and putting off all co-op things and have been cancelling on a lot of people. The only games I've been playing with anyone is trying out Gauntlet on an easier level with Nick just to try it, and that has mainly just been stress relief. It mostly consists of me trying to get Nick killed and ending up killing myself in the process. That and stealing all the gold cause I'm certainly not winning in kills.
Dead Space 2 is the other recording I've been doing, but I haven't had the time, energy or willpower to tackle anything else. So I am truly sorry for that (mainly apologizing to Voyeur, Shauna, Mesk, HKS and Delta here). Things should hopefully stabilize next week (though I said that about this week).
Um yeah I'd also love to get back into my reading, writing and trying to learn how to code. That would be great.
This is where my brain is at.
You're welcome.
