May or may not have taken an entire tub of hummus dip for my bread today. We ran out of clean tupperware. It is a large container. I have received many silly comments about it. HEE.
Today I'm listening to a bunch of game tracks starting with some Jeremy Soule compositions:
Dungeon Siege 1:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEzWCF7pApk
Guild Wars 2 in four parts:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-Ir3OhcVgk
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3Lo4hOVxZg&src
Moving on to...
Journey:

And finally....
Dragon Age 2 (because the full Dragon Age 1 soundtrack kept breaking on YouTube):

I really do enjoy the Guild Wars soundtracks. Too bad the Dragon Age 1 video broke for me. DA2 isn't bad, but I really wanted to listen to the first one.

Half Life 1...
Turns out quite a few people were interested in seeing the Half Life 1 LP continued/completed. Oops. I got incredibly lazy with that LP's production. It's not because I do not enjoy the game (in fact it's one of my favourites of all time), but I had some issues with recording that required more of my time. Other LPs were much easier and faster to produce, so I naturally took that route since I've been busy since December. I explain what happened a little on the Surface Tensions videos (of which I'm not too proud of as I get very lost, have very low health and ammo, and the chapter ended up being 2 hours and 30 minutes long). The chapter actually would have been longer had I not forgotten to press the record button when I exited out of the menu. So I had to play that section a second time, and therefore knew exactly what was coming for a short period of time.
I recorded more yesterday. Be prepared for an hour long session of video in your future consisting of swears, screaming and breaking triggers (I'm pretty sure someone actually told me about the glitch in question, but I was surprised to encounter it as I had totally forgotten if they had). I actually disturbed some people in my household as voices travel very well through vents. They were mildly concerned that I was screaming and cussing for about an hour, seemingly at nothing, alone, in my bedroom.

Time to Slay the Dragon
Which is Penumbra. Going through this footage will take me many hours, especially since I am making occasional comments and ensuring the audio is in its proper place (otherwise there will be a lot of voice commentary that makes even less sense than usual).
Something catastrophic happened to the audio in the middle of Penumbra: Black Plague, which is unfortunate as it was the best out of the three. As I'm watching though, I'm realizing this wasn't one of my favourite LPs. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't overly good either. We did have some entertaining commentary though. Best LP Shauna and I have done so far appears to be Outlast, and I think it's partially because it was a GOOD horror game. Which was bad for me incidentally as it left me a little on edge before, during and after we played.
Anyhow, two segments complete...estimated 18 to 20 left. Damn. Yeah, there's over 16 hours of footage to watch.

Soundtrack Thursday 6 (and Alice News)
I'm pretty sure my headphones were designed for someone with a perfectly square head. Yeah there's a curve there, but it's not much. I may need to invest in a new pair, especially since my other headphones have a broken right side. With that said...more soundtracks!
Today is Hans Zimmer day, though that's unfortunate since I have a short day at work. Also didn't listen long because my headphones were hurting my head.
Hans Zimmer Compilation - Great tracks...I should really listen to the whole Lion King soundtrack...
Prince of Egypt - Fantastic soundtrack. The compilation above reminded me of it and I decided to listen to it. Too bad about the one track though that was terrible quality.
Ah yes, and Alice. I have now completed recording the LP. All the videos should be uploaded by Monday. I made the decision not to LP anything further until I have cleaned out my hard drive, which means I'll finally have to face the beast that is the Penumbra trilogy. Good lord the last game was tedious. It'll be one of those LPs where I need to do extensive commentary to keep people's attention. I'll post it, but I won't say it's the most entertaining to experience. The second game should be all right. There's enough silly things that happen there...though there are two broken segments I need to figure out what to do with as I mentioned before.
The two games I'll likely LP next are Dark Souls and Dishonored.

Oh Deer
Obvious pun is obvious.
We have an injured deer living in our neighbourhood right now. It keeps sleeping in our flowerbed out front every night. Poor thing broke its leg, but the good news is it can still walk and it will get better. Had a guy from wildlife services come out and take a look at her and he said if the break had been higher in the leg, the deer wouldn't be able to heal properly. So thankfully it won't have to be put down. We just have to wait until it feels comfortable to leave.
Meanwhile, I think I should name it. I've already had three suggestions...though so far they've all been "Venison." Thanks guys. You know who you are. Not sure how long she'll stay for, but one thing is for sure: it's kind of freaky at 6am when you look out the window and there's these beady little eyes staring back.

Blargh
Where did you put the feed YouTube? I can't flood people with completely useless updates anymore. How am I supposed to spam people now? I will have to be mildly displeased with you until you bring it back. Then again, this is like...the 500th time it's disappeared randomly. I shall stare eagerly at the screen until it returns. If I do not post again it's because I have starved to death. Please retrieve my body, place it on a wooden Viking ship (a SHIP not a boat), light it on fire and send me out to sea. There I can expect it to crash unceremoniously into a flock of seagulls and therefore have a flaming, squawking send-off to the underworld. That or Ragnerok will hit first. It is in a couple days after all.
My arm is itchy. Clearly a sign of the apocalypse.

Audio Issues
For the past couple of weeks I experienced a drop in mic audio quality that I did not pick up until recently (Mesk ended up pointing them out to me) and I've been working to fix it. We ran a couple tests and discovered Fraps was the culprit from what we could figure out. I adjusted some settings, which ended with me moving to a lower frequency. Which was weird, but it works now so I can't complain. Point overall for this is, the audio quality in the last 6 or so segments of Alice, in addition to some Left 4 Dead 2 content is lower than normal. For those who notice these levels of detail, I apologize. If you didn't notice, well now you'll be listening extra careful for it.
PS - I use a Blue Microphone - The Snowflake, in case anyone runs into the same issues

Soundtrack Thursday Number 5
I'm in the mood for video game soundtracks today.
Starting off with Dungeon Keeper 2 - Battle/combat music is one of my favourite game tracks of all time.
Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos - Never played too much of this game to be honest. Only played a couple random maps and a lot of DoTA back when that was new. Decent soundtrack though.
American McGee's Alice - Exceptionally strange. Version I listened to had dialogue and bits from the game. Was very strange writing content while someone was laughing maniacally in my ear. Might have been my favourite track to listen to today.
Alice: Madness Returns - Seemed fitting as I'm LPing this right now. A little more generic than American McGee's, but still nice music to work to.
Once again, excellent soundtracks...though today took a little bit of an ambient/strange turn. As soundtrack Thursday once again comes to a close, my general final thoughts have literally been: bored, tired, tired, tired, bored, email, tired, bored, bored, HOLY SHIT I FORGOT I HAD BROWNIES WITH ME.
I am now eating brownies and finishing off blog posts for work. The brownies have made me very happy.
PS - The brownies are inherently happy....not because they're "special" or anything...

Video Footage
In addition to Alice, which is close to being a finished LP, I have a ton of video footage on my hard drives that I have not yet released. These include Left 4 Dead 2 campaigns with Shauna, Michael, Oliver, Carlo, Nick and a couple of Michael's friends, a whole stack of Age of Empires 3 videos (some hilarious and others absolutely disgusting), Unreal Tournament 3 random games (meant to try the campaign, but it didn't want to work for us and we were too lazy to commit too much time to it...also where you see how god-awful I am at most FPS), a couple of Baldur's Gate videos (though I only played a small portion of it...I may pick this up again), Penumbra (one day it shall be released...), dozens of random Skyrim clips (compiled since the dawn of time apparently based on how much random crud was sitting there that I don't remember) and some incomplete LPs including Miasmata (dropped because we figured it wasn't going to be an overly engaging LP) and Haunted Memories (a free Indie game that was impossible to complete due to terrible graphics, horrible writing and awkward controls/movement).
If you would like to see any of this on YouTube or have it released, let me know. Otherwise, I will be completing Alice and moving on to Dark Souls. I will probably LP something else like Dishonored at the same time as I expect I will need breaks from Dark Souls based off what I've heard.
Do not ask for the L4D2 Cold Stream Advanced campaign with Shauna and Nick, joined later by Michael unless you want to see one of the most miserable footage you'll ever watch in your life. I'll likely do a couple of clips to sum it up...but it's two days later and I'm still mad with how poorly I played. That campaign is awful. I was awful. Everything is awful.

Soundtrack Thursday 4
Well, I had Thursday off last week, and this week I was sick, so I've extended Soundtrack Thursday to Soundtrack Thursday/Friday. I was listening to music a bit when I was at home yesterday, but it was broken up by fits of napping, work and watching Brood War replays. So I have continued to listen to music today.
List of Tracks:
-Fairy Tail Volume 4 (fantastic soundtrack...not sure about the anime yet...only two episodes into first season)
-Warcraft 2 Soundtrack (heard it in those Brood War replays and had a sudden desire for nostalgia. Not a bad soundtrack...especially for 1995)
-Assassin's Creed 4 (giving myself a preview as I have it but haven't played it yet. Might be a contender for best Assassin's Creed soundtrack, but I do love the AC2 one).
-Halo 4 (always a delightful listen)
Also, a note about Alice:
I'll probably end up finishing recording the game this weekend, but I'm unsure exactly how much I have left. We'll have to see. I think I have an entire other area to complete, but I am almost done the third section of the game. If I had to recommend anything, I'd watch these recent segments: 19 - 26 (when they are all uploaded...some are encoding as I type). Segment 19 and 20 contain just under an hour of fighting a colossal ruin (yes...I know that's bad), but it has some of the most hilarious bugs I've seen in the game so far. After that, I feel as though I get a hang of the game a little bit more. There are plenty of other broken or silly instances as well.
